Man deported by ICE to Tijuana dies during armed robbery months later
A man was deported by ICE to Tijuana in January 2024 and died during an armed robbery seven months later when gunmen shot him in the heart, according to his family. ICE said he had previously been deported three times. His daughter, Evelyn González, a resident of Oceanside, California, remembered him as a strong man who always fought for his family and taught her to be independent. His family is seeking help to transport his body to his hometown in Mexico for a dignified farewell.
