An ICE enforcement operation in Newark, New Jersey on February 25-26, 2026 resulted in a multi-vehicle crash with injuries. Armed and masked ICE agents were present near the bus stop, with some students reporting that agents followed them home. Ring camera footage captured the incident. Four of the family's five children are U.S. citizens, including an 18-year-old brother left to live alone in the family's Texas home for a year. The family has been living in an area known for kidnappings of U.S. citizens while awaiting a humanitarian parole decision filed through the Texas Civil Rights Project. Woman Tasered by Border Patrol agents, assault charge dismissed after video evidence

Feb 22, 2026San Diego, CAGuatemala

A 23-year-old woman was detained at a Border Patrol checkpoint on State Route 94 near Dulzura and charged with assaulting a federal officer after agents accused her of pushing an agent and throwing a punch. Body camera footage showed agents had found no evidence of criminal activity, falsely told her they discovered 'deleted evidence' on her phone, twisted her arm behind her back when she reached for it, and Tasered her as she turned to enter a holding cell. The Taser prong struck her breast, and her breastmilk was laden with blood for weeks afterward. Federal prosecutors dismissed the charge in August 2025. Her case is one of 22 assault-on-federal-officer cases filed in San Diego during Trump's second term, 10 of which were dismissed, a 45% dismissal rate compared to 8% during Biden's final year in office.

Guzmán, who has Type 1 diabetes and was suffering postpartum pain and a breast infection, was held for roughly 34 to 36 hours at the Broadview Processing Center, a facility that has faced allegations of overcrowding, unsanitary conditions, and limited medical care. During her detention she was denied postpartum care, a breast pump, medical assessment, adequate food, water, and blankets, while still trying to produce breast milk for her daughter, who remained unable to eat or breathe independently. Her detention occurred amid the Trump administration's Operation Midway Blitz enforcement campaign in the Chicago area. Lawyers petitioned for her release citing health concerns, and a federal judge ordered Guzmán and her family released on conditional bail, preventing their scheduled transfer to out-of-state facilities.
