Legal observer arrested and injured by ICE agents during Minnesota enforcement surge

Georgia Savageford, a Minneapolis woman, was arrested by federal immigration officers on January 24, 2026, after being pushed to the ground by an agent. She was then tackled and dragged face-down by three agents, who knelt on her back, twisted her arms and legs, and handcuffed her so tightly she suffered temporary nerve damage and lost feeling in her hands. Savageford was a legal observer monitoring ICE enforcement activities when the incident occurred. She was placed in an ICE holding facility where she was held for 12 hours in a cold cell without adequate access to food, water, or bathroom facilities, then released without being charged. Civil rights attorneys have filed complaints on her behalf as part of an effort to pursue class-action lawsuits over alleged excessive force.

DHS investigates Bovino remarks about Minnesota prosecutor

U.S. Customs and Border Protection opened an internal investigation into whether Gregory Bovino, a U.S. Border Patrol commander and architect of Trump's immigration enforcement policies, made disparaging comments about the Jewish faith of U.S. Attorney for Minnesota Daniel N. The alleged remarks were made during a January 12 phone call coordinating immigration enforcement operations, where Bovino allegedly complained about Rosen's unavailability due to the Sabbath and made sarcastic comments about Orthodox Jewish people. A Minneapolis pastor was detained by ICE after joining a protest. During his release, officers made remarks about his race, telling him 'You're White' and 'Wouldn't Be Any Fun Anyway.' Gregory Bovino, a Border Patrol commander who became the public face of the Trump administration's aggressive immigration enforcement operations, announced his retirement. Bovino led high-profile crackdowns in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Minnesota that resulted in thousands of arrests and drew criticism for aggressive tactics including vehicle searches, chemical agents, and raids. His operations are linked to deaths of U.S. citizens and widespread demonstrations.

Families Find 'Death Cards' Left Behind After ICE Detains Relatives in Colorado

ICE agents have been leaving cards on the vehicles of undocumented immigrants, often containing messages implying threats of imminent deportation. In Colorado, immigrant rights group Voces Unidas reported that family members discovered customized ace of spades "death cards" bearing the address of the ICE Denver field office after agents detained 10 Latino community members. According to the report, agents used fake police lights to pull over the vehicles, then left them abandoned with doors open, engines running and hazard lights flashing.

Three Venezuelan asylum seekers arrested in front of elementary school

Three Venezuelan nationals with pending asylum cases were arrested by ICE agents on Friday morning in front of the Drachman Montessori Magnet School on 22nd Street and South 10th Avenue, with dozens of children on the playground nearby. According to a family member, the three—a husband, brother, and sister-in-law—had been regularly checking in with ICE every three months and had proper documentation showing they were legally present while their cases were being processed. One agent was carrying pepper spray during the arrest, and the sister-in-law was arrested after questioning an officer.

ICE Agent Threatens to Return for Man's Whole Family

Social worker detained at ICE detention center protest in Florida

On August 23, 2025, about 40 people gathered outside the Metropolitan Detention Center to protest ICE raids. Jessica Ramirez Vasquez, a social worker and community volunteer, was detained after using a bullhorn during the protest. Officers fired pepper balls and rubber bullets at the crowd. Jessica was arrested and charged with felony assault on a federal officer. Livestream video documented the incident.

Ecuadorian roofer says ICE agent threatened to return for his family

Cristian Vaca, a 28-year-old roofer from Ecuador who moved to Biddeford, Maine in September 2023, said ICE agents repeatedly threatened him and his family outside his home on Wednesday. Vaca, who has a Social Security number, a work permit, and pays income taxes, said he was sitting on his couch when he noticed agents photographing him outside. A video he recorded shows an ICE agent telling him through his closed front door, "We're going to come back for your whole family, OK?" while a child's voice can be heard in the background. Vaca lives with his wife and young son.

Observer threatened with ICE watchlist testifies in lawsuit over surveillance of protesters

Elinor Hilton, a 23-year-old Portland resident, was recording federal agents during a Department of Homeland Security operation called "Catch of the Day" at a Home Depot when agents told her she was being placed on a watchlist and threatened to come to her house that night. The incident occurred two weeks after Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, and Hilton has said she has since struggled to sleep and remains fearful of idling cars near her home. Hilton and fellow observer Colleen Fagan, who said agents told her she was being placed in "a nice little database," appeared in court as plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit Hilton v. Noem et al., in which attorneys from Protect Democracy and the law firms Dunn Isaacson Rhee and Drummond Woodsum argue that the surveillance violated observers' First Amendment rights.

ICE Raid on U.S. Citizen Sparks St. Paul Protest, Leading to Federal Indictments

Photographer Tackled by ICE Agents in Minneapolis Protest

South Carolina Restaurant Owner Charged for Joining Anti-ICE Student Group Chat
