ICE announced 120 local law enforcement partners under the 287(g) program in Tennessee as of September 9, though a review of agency data found 139 Tennessee law enforcement agencies had signed an agreement by September 15. Most operate under the Warrant Service Officer model (75 agencies), with 52 under the Task Force Model and nine under the Jail Enforcement Model. Since January 2025, these partners have made more than 1,300 arrests and had 542 encounters with immigrants already in local custody, including the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office arresting a Honduran man with prior sexual battery convictions on its first day as a partner agency. Despite a new Tennessee law requiring all sheriffs to sign 287(g) agreements by 2027, 11 sheriffs' offices, including in Davidson and Campbell counties, had not yet entered into an agreement as of the review.
