Class Action Challenges ICE Racial Profiling Campaign in Minneapolis
Dec 10, 2025·Location: Minneapolis, MN
Country of origin: Somalia
Three U.S. citizens of Somali and Latino descent filed a class action lawsuit challenging DHS's "Operation Metro Surge" in Minneapolis, which began after President Trump called Somalis "garbage" in December 2025. The plaintiffs allege federal agents are conducting warrantless stops and arrests based solely on race and ethnicity, violating the Fourth Amendment and federal immigration law. The operation involves 3,000 federal agents targeting predominantly Somali and Latino neighborhoods despite 95% of Somali Minnesotans being U.S. citizens.
