ICE arrests in Colorado and Wyoming surged through 2025, with Colorado arrests rising 281% to about 4,160 for the year, up from 1,091 in 2024, and Wyoming arrests up 136% year over year in the first half of the year. Daily arrests in Colorado rose from about four to twelve, peaking in April 2025 and declining only slightly since, with early 2026 data showing the pace continuing. About 65% of those arrested in Colorado had no prior criminal convictions, and among those with convictions, only 5% were for violent crimes, with DUI, assault and traffic offenses most common. Advocates say ICE is routinely arresting immigrants with pending asylum cases and no criminal history, including at homes, workplaces and during daily activities, contradicting the administration's stated focus on serious criminals.
