A Wapato father was detained by ICE more than two weeks ago after his wife confronted immigration officers at a courthouse. He has lived in the U.S. for about two decades, has no criminal record, and has worked at the same Yakima Valley fruit company for 15 years. He is the sole provider for his wife and five children, who are all U.S. citizens, and is currently held at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma. The family had been working with a Seattle attorney to pursue legal status before his detention.
