Border Patrol agents smashed a car window and dragged Orbin Mauricio Henríquez Serrano, a 27-year-old Honduran man with no criminal history, from his vehicle at a St. Paul, Minnesota gas station on January 11, 2026. Video showed agents surrounding his parked car, breaking the window, and restraining him until he lost consciousness, leaving visible wounds on his face and chest and injuring a leg he had recently had surgery on after a car crash. A crowd of bystanders gathered and surrounded the agents, who fired pepper balls toward the crowd; a U.S. citizen who struck an officer was also arrested, along with a second detained individual. Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino was present and ordered bystanders to move back. DHS said Henríquez Serrano had been issued a final order of removal in 2020 and had refused agents' orders before the window was broken. He is now held at a detention facility in El Paso, Texas, and has told his sister he has not received medical attention for his injuries.
