ICE defends body-worn camera policy after AP report on footage release
Aug 8, 2026·Location: Washington, DC

Acting ICE Director David J. Venturella issued a statement responding to an Associated Press report he called misleading about ICE's body-worn camera policy. He clarified that expedited release of footage applies only to cases of serious bodily injury or death in custody, distinct from ICE's broader release authority. ICE said it remains on track to equip all field officers and agents with body-worn cameras by the end of August.
