Rogue Valley Migra Watch said ICE detained at least 21 people during a two-day operation Sept. 23-24 at cannabis farms and other properties in Jackson and Josephine counties, including sites in Medford, Ruch, West Medford and Cave Junction. The group said it confirmed 13 detentions Wednesday and at least eight more Thursday, mostly agricultural workers, and reported seeing GEO Group detention vehicles, including one loaded at the Medford ICE office. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office, which also seized several luxury vehicles and had one person treated by paramedics during the raids, said the action was part of a two-year, multi-agency investigation into a drug-trafficking organization and that local deputies did not cooperate with ICE, citing Oregon's sanctuary laws. Neither ICE nor the FBI had publicly confirmed the number of detentions as of Friday evening.
