Oregon AG joins briefs challenging prolonged ICE detention, warrantless arrests
Sep 23, 2026·Location: OR

Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield joined a group of attorneys general arguing that people held in prolonged ICE detention should receive individual hearings on whether continued confinement is necessary. In a separate filing the same day, he supported a Colorado court order requiring officers to assess flight risk before making a warrantless immigration arrest. Neither filing determines the circumstances of the Southern Oregon raids or other ongoing Rogue Valley arrests.
