ICE agents arrested Joseph Dobzynski on Oct. 14 and Alexandria Quintanar on Oct. 15, both volunteers who track and follow federal agents, on charges of impeding officers during the agency's 45-day enforcement operation in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. Quintanar, a volunteer with 805 UndocuFund, repeatedly yelled during her arrest that she was a U.S. citizen. Dobzynski has a court date scheduled for December. The broader operation has included arrests at jails, prisons, courthouses, homes, vehicles and workplaces, and has produced a surge of clashes between activists and ICE agents. The Department of Homeland Security later published lists describing people it called the 'worst of worst criminal aliens' arrested in the cities of San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria during 2025 and 2026, citing charges ranging from homicide and sexual assault to burglary, fraud, child molestation and drug trafficking.
