Named plaintiff Gerald Akari Angye alleged that guards at Camp East Montana fractured his wrist and spine while he was shackled and not resisting. In a statement, Angye said 'urgent protection is desperately needed' at the facility, alleging detainees continue to lack adequate food, water, medicine and recreation, and that he would 'never be the same' after the violence he says he experienced at the hands of guards. He is among the plaintiffs seeking a preliminary injunction against conditions at the facility.
