Colorado sues GEO Group for hiding tuberculosis case at Aurora detention center

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser sued GEO Group, operator of the Aurora immigration detention facility, to force compliance with a state health order investigating a tuberculosis case discovered in June. GEO stopped cooperating with local and state health officials, refusing to disclose contact information about the infected detainee and others potentially exposed. GEO is separately suing the state in federal court, challenging its authority to conduct health investigations at the facility.
